BBA (Hons) in International Shipping and Transport Logistics

This programme equips graduates with a
wide knowledge of maritime transport and logistics
within a general broad perspective of international
transport and trade, and with the skills that are
necessary to understand and manage maritime
organizations and personnel.
The programme provides a well-rounded business education, along with an opportunity to specialise in international
shipping and logistics management. Students develop strong management skills, in areas including communication and
presentation, leadership and teamwork, problem solving and the effective use of information technology.

This programme is offered within the BBA (Hons) Scheme and the BBA/BSc (Hons) Scheme in Logistics.

All BBA (Hons) students must complete a short work placement during their studies, either in summer or during semester
time. The Department provides assistance in finding suitable placements.

To provide a broader and flexible curriculum, starting from the 2010/11 cohort of intake, all students in BBA programmes
are by default enrolled on a Major/Minor study pathway. That is, apart from taking 81 credits for the Major, students
are required to take 18 credits for a Minor programme in a particular discipline other than the Major or free Elective
Subjects in any combination of disciplines.
