Welcome to IFSPA'08
Traditionally, sea and air shipping are two separate activities. Nowadays, along with the inevitable trend of globalisation, they have been evolving as an integrated service profession of global economy. The C.Y. Tung International Centre of Maritime Studies (ICMS), The Department of Logistics (LGT), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is organising the second International Forum on Shipping, Ports and Airports (IFSPA¡¦08) which will take place at PolyU¡¦s main campus in 25 ¡V 28 May 2008.
IFSPA¡¦08 invites basic, applied and case study research in the field of maritime and aviation policy and management, as well as the proposals for panel discussions. IFSPA¡¦08 will serve as an ideal platform to solicit opinions from international academics and industry practitioners on maritime and aviation policies and logistics management. It is intention of the IFSPA¡¦08, the second International Conference of this series, to focus on global maritime and aviation policy and management. The first IFSPA was held in May 2007 and experienced big success, of which we had secured massive support from international influential academics and industry stakeholders.
In addition, the Conference will dedicate a special session celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong International Airport, and we are expecting a wide range of attendances from Asia-Pacific and other overseas regions attending IFSPA¡¦08.
We look forward to seeing you in Hong Kong!
